Purpose of Position

As a Technical Assistant it is expected that you will assist as required with technical duties within the Anatomical Pathology Department such as specimen reception duties including specimen collection, duties associated with processing samples and assisting medical staff in the department.


Also you will be expected to strive for excellence at all times, maintain patient confidentiality, maintain a high standard of professional knowledge, personal conduct, ethics and practice, support and participate in quality activities, cooperate and contribute to your team to achieve agreed outcomes and maximise customer satisfaction through assisting to improve service.


This is a Category A position. All Category A applicants must read and understand Policy Directive PD2011_005 Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination against specified diseases. All new recruits must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. New recruits must provide evidence against specified diseases and comply with the requirements of this policy at their own cost prior to appointment.
