Purpose of Position

Provide in home respite care and support for persons with dementia living in Sydney’s Inner West. On occasion, the incumbent may be called upon to work at one of two dementia specific day centres in SLHD.

Selection Criteria 1) Experience and/ or demonstrated understanding and awareness of the needs of people with dementia and their carers

2) Demonstrated ability to assist, supervise and provide direct personal care and other tasks of daily living to clients with dementia or older persons

3) Experience and awareness of safe manual handing practices

4) Current unrestricted NSW driver’s licence (P2 acceptable) and access to a reliable registered vehicle with current comprehensive motor vehicle insurance.

5) Good written and verbal communication skills

6) Good computer literacy and ability to record notes electronically

7) Current First Aid Certificate
