Purpose of Position
  • Provide comprehensive Specialist Medical Services under the supervision and guidance of Specialist Consultants for the Lismore Base Hospital and outpatient services provided at the various Sites.
  • Primary role is the care, management and co-ordination of patients in the care of the Department of Medicine.
  • The Fellow will be expected to take on the Consultant On Call Roster with the relevant Consultant being second on call.  This responsibility will only be granted at an appropriate time during the Fellowship as determined by the Department of Medicine.
  • The Fellow will work in a Post Graduate Fellow/Senior Registrar type role.

Selection Criteria Current Registration or eligible for Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Post Graduate qualification in General Medicine (FRACP preferred)

Demonstrated interest in rural/regional general medicine.

Demonstrated ability to work with appropriate independence within supervised, complex clinical environment.

Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written), and computer skills, with demonstrated good organisational and time management skills.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, as well as a professional attitude and flexibility, with a preparedness and ability to participate in after-hours overtime and on-call rosters.
