Purpose of Position

The Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) is a senior management position responsible and accountable for the management of the Health ICT Program Management Office (PMO).  As Manager of the PMO, the incumbent is responsible for the implementation of priority clinical and corporate information systems across LHD in line with the eHealth NSW ICT Strategy, Rural LHD eHealth Vision, Strategy and Plan, the LHD eHealth Roadmap and Implementation Plan, WNSWLHD Technology Enablement Strategy and user / organisational needs.

Selection Criteria 1) Relevant Tertiary level qualification in Information Technology at Degree or Diploma level or equivalent experience working in a similar or related field as a member of a senior Information Technology (IT) Management Team, and relevant Tertiary level qualification in a health-related field with professional registration in the same.

2) Demonstrated high level understanding of information systems/electronic data base systems and system administration functionality including but not limited to systems evaluation, data standards, privacy including information legislation, health record systems and digitised records standards as well as a broad understanding of the linkage of clinical and patient related systems and their role in health service delivery.

3) Demonstrated experience in the management and implementation of clinical/corporate information systems that transform customer needs into service delivery solutions.

4) Demonstrates clinical leadership with proven ability to exercise sound judgment and provide leadership in professional standards, ethics and a commitment to research and innovation.

5) Demonstrated people management skills, with a proven ability to lead cultural change.

6) Superior verbal and written communication skills, including experience in the preparation of complex briefing materials and reports, ability to work logically, solve problems, and prioritise support requirements to meet deadlines.

7) Demonstrated experience in managing successful projects, including coordination of schedules and resources to achieve deliverables.

8) Strong interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and motivational skills which demonstrate a capacity to build and maintain relationships with a diverse stakeholder group.
