Purpose of Position

To provide high quality evidence based clinical services including assessment, care coordination, intervention, iaison and review as part of a multidisciplinary team for children and young people up to 18 years of age.

 

The successful applicant will primarily work with CAMHS teams within the geographical

locations serviced by the Community Mental Health Service in which the position is

located. Engagement with staff in other areas may be required from time to time.

 

The role also involves the provision of mental health crisis intervention services (when

rostered, on-call and/or shift work, as part of a 7 day roster).

 

This is a Permanent Full Time position, working 38 hours per week and classified as a Registered Nurse. This position is located in Queanbeyan which belongs to Southern NSW Local Health District.

Selection Criteria Tertiary qualifications in nursing, and current registration with AHPRA. Applicant must have at least 3 years experience in the field, with strong interest or experience in child and adolescent mental health. Applicant must be willing to work towards a post graduate qualification for Clinical Nurse Specialist-Grade 2.

Demonstrated experience in assessment (including crisis and risk assessments), and coordination of care of children and adolescence with high level acuity of mental health issues.



Understanding of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007).

Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of programs.

Evidence of a current Class C drivers licence and maintenance of same during employment. Ability and willingness to travel long distances for work purposes as the position requires.
