Purpose of Position

The Oral Health Intake Service is an extremely busy call centre environment. The primary role of an Intake Officer is to provide telephone response to clients wishing to access dental treatment through the public health service. You will be the first point of contact for these clients. You will be required to register client demographics, make appointments and handle inquiries in accordance with NSW Health policy guidelines. Using multiple software programs concurrently is essential to successfully performing the role. The Intake Service currently receives approximately 6000 calls per month and on an average day an individual officer can take around 70 calls.

 

These are Temporary Full Time and Temporary Part Time positions, working up to 38 hours per week until 8 September 2017 and classified as Administrative Officer, Level 3. These positions are located in Goulburn, which belongs to Southern NSW Local Health District.

Selection Criteria Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure within a busy call centre or office environment and undertake routine administrative duties

Demonstrated experience with computerised information systems, email and windows applications and a demonstrated ability to accurately enter data, using multiple programs concurrently

Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills

Experience in working in a team environment, as well as independently and with minimal supervision to prioritise your workload to achieve goals

Demonstrated ability to use initiative in the workplace

An understanding of accreditation and quality management of NSW Health Services

Evidence of a current Class C driver’s licence, and willingness to travel for work purposes
