Purpose of Position

This position manages the Local Health District’s Accounts Receivable Team ensuring that it provides a seamless, efficient and continually improving service to all levels within Sydney Local Health District.

This position is to work closely with and under the direction of the Manager of Financial Systems and Audit to collate staff members’ leave roster; update work plan and procedures; and provide support to Annual Accounts and other duties as directed.

Assistant Financial Accountant Health Manager Level 1




Selection Criteria 1.A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business or Commerce and/or meet the requirements to be a member of a recognised Australian professional accounting body; or extensive current experience in Financial Management Information Systems

2.Experience in a major accounting system and excellent computer skills with advanced Microsoft Excel.

3.Proven experience in reconciliations and the ability to analyse and interpret information from different sources to pro-actively identify issues and formulate strategies to address them.

4.Effectively managing time and competing priorities to meet strict deadlines.

5.Demonstrated ability to handle high volume invoices processing and work independently and be flexible and adaptable to change whilst supporting a highly productive, cohesive and professional workplace culture.

6.Proven liaising skills with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner, including ability to train staff in financial and system matters.

7.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal and client engagement skills

8. Policies and processing knowledge in Intra Health or VMO
