Purpose of Position

Provide diagnostic Radiology and Interventional Radiology management and treatment of patients in a Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) facility under your care. This care will be provided within the scope of practice granted by the SLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC). Participate in research and teaching within the Radiology Department.

Selection Criteria Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Radiologists and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Staff Specialist (State) Award. Specialist Radiologist with interest in Interventional Radiology.

The Department has subspecialty focused reporting and numerous interventional suites. Skills in Interventional radiology are sought after.

Demonstrated commitment to research to support and contribute to the SLHD's vision to be a world leader in Health research, driving excellence in health and health care and generating community, social and economic benefits.

Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement patient safety and risk management.

Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice.

Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff.

Demonstrated commitment to comply with the service objective of public health organisation, including the provision of services to local community, effective utilisation of resources, preparedness to participate in provision of health services at Area level, if credentialed. Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team.

Preparedness to participate in any on-call service, including on-call rosters already existing or established.
