Purpose of Position

Participate in the management of generalist and program specific  administration functions at Queanbeyan  Hospital

 

Ensure high quality customer service and high level of administrative support for the Department as directed by the Allied Health Manager

 

Provide services in an efficient, courteous and confidential manner.

 

Maintain a support function  for senior staff  as directed by the Allied health manager and  as appropriate for the needs of the specific work areas

 

Actively participate in the implementation of effective and appropriate quality service improvement programs as required

 

To accept personal responsibility and accountability for professional practice.

 

Ensure familiarity and compliance with WHS policies and procedures and facility safe work practices

 

Comply with mandatory training areas as identified by NSW Health

 

Attend and complete annual mandatory training

 

Undertake reasonable travel in accordance with the duties of this position

Other duties as directed by the Allied Health Manager

 

 

This is a Permanent Part Time position, working 32 hours per week, and classified as Administrative Officer, Level 3. This position is located in Queanbeyan which belongs to Southern NSW Local Health District.

Selection Criteria Demonstrated experience in a recent administration health service position, having performed a diverse range of duties

Demonstrating the ability to work co-operatively in a team and exchange information to contribute to the co-ordination of work between staff and/or areas.

Demonstrated high standard of organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise, achieve deadlines under pressure, work independently and as a member of a team Proven and demonstrated organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet and manage competing deadlines

Demonstrated evidence of excellent communication which includes interpersonal, verbal, written and electronic communication skills.

Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills, including keyboard duties, data entry, word processing and utilisation of online applications and programs. Competent to use a wide range of computer hardware, software and electronic
systems to complete work activities.


Demonstrated understanding of/experience working in a health service environment, ensuring that confidentiality is maintained and that all people are treated with dignity and respect

Demonstrated attention to detail with particular focus on accuracy with data entry, typing of reports and transfer of information.

Evidence of a current driver’s license with the ability and willingness to travel for work
