Purpose of Position

This position is responsible for providing professional advice for the staff, dental practitioners and health professionals to ensure effective and efficient delivery of evidenced based preventive and oral health promotion programs for NSW priority populations. The Policy Analyst Priority Populations will plan, develop, implement and evaluate appropriate interventions for NSW priority populations.

 

Note: For this position description, ‘Priority Populations’ are older people, people with special needs, rural and remote communities,  Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, children, adolescents, youth, are the responsibility of other COHS staff.

This position is temporary full time (Maternity relief up to 12 months), working 38 hours per week and is classified as a Health Manager Level 2.

Selection Criteria 1. Demonstrated understanding and application of project management processes.

2. Demonstrated highly developed and effective organisational skills, with the ability to work autonomously, and in a team environment to meet outcomes in a timely and efficient manner.



3. Demonstrated knowledge of current national oral health, state, and health promotion priorities.


4. Demonstrated ability to maintain and apply contemporary knowledge of oral health issues for priority populations.



5. Demonstrated excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop collaborative partnerships with multidisciplinary groups and key stakeholders.



6. Well-developed written communication and computer skills to prepare, review, and edit strategic plans, policies, Ministerial correspondence and briefings, reports, papers and proposals.
