Purpose of Position

To perform Transthoracic echocardiograms (stationary or mobile) on outpatients and

inpatients in the hospital and from other hospitals and at the mobile clinics. To perform

ECG, and assist with Transoesophageal Echocardiogram, Stress echocardiogram (exercise & Dobutamine).

Selection Criteria Diploma of Medical Ultrasound (Cardiac)/Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound or studying towards a recognised cardiac sonography course

ASAR accreditation at a student or qualified sonographer level

Demonstrated experience in cardiac ultrasound (Echocardiography)

Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and support a harmonious work environment.

Proven ability to interpret findings and make decisions about additional imaging as required during the course of each test as well as to recognise and communicate significant findings as required.

Understanding and experience with various echocardiographic machines, their operation and day to day running and maintenance.

Demonstrated ability to provide services to patients in a professional, courteous, respectful and gentle manner.

Current NSW Drivers Licence.
