Northern NSW LHD seeks an experienced Specialist Gastroenterologist to work within its multi-disciplinary team of staff, providing expert medical assessment and management of patients. The position will require the successful applicant to be based mainly at The Tweed Hospital but may be varied as service demands and as agreed with the Director of Medical Services to provide support for other facilities in the N NSW LHD.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners eligible for registration in NSW for the above position. Applicants should have Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians and/or other specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialist (State Award).
VMO’s enjoy generous remuneration along with Professional Support Expense allowance once employment period and other criteria are met.
With a rapidly growing population needing a comprehensive range of services, we are excited about the recent announcement of $534 Million awarded to develop a greenfield hospital in the Tweed region. This is currently in planning stage. At the same time, The Tweed Hospital is being upgraded with additional inpatient beds and additional operating theatres. Clinicians are actively engaged in development of models of care, workforce planning and building design to ensure the new hospital is person centred enabling contemporary health care delivery.
