Purpose of Position

The Nuclear Medicine Service delivers care and imaging to all patients in the ISLHD offering inpatient and outpatient imaging. In addition the service offers a range of therapy options for various diseases and will continue to provide an increasing level of therapeutic options utilising radiopharmaceuticals for this therapeutic modality. The nuclear medicine physician will be a member of the department of nuclear medicine and will participate in the on-call roster in addition to providing clinical care. The specialist will also participate in educational and quality activities and projects and other nuclear medicine service activities as required.  The successful applicant will have an active interest in research and may be eligible for a conjoint appointment with the Graduate School of Medicine with University of Wollongong. The applicant must be dedicated to a philosophy of teamwork and demonstrate the ability to work as a team member within the department of nuclear medicine and more broadly with the Illawarra Shoalhaven Imaging Service. The applicant must be able to liaise effectively with peers and other staff in the ISLHD medical community.

Selection Criteria 1. Registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

2. Fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) - Appropriately qualified and credentialed to provide Nuclear Medicine and PET services.

3. Experience in delivery of PET and Coronary CT Angiography desirable.

4. Demonstrate a commitment to evidence-based practice.

5. Ability to effectively communicate with any member of the patient's caring team whether inpatient or outpatient.

6. Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.

7. Collaborate and participate with all multi-disciplinary team processes.

8. Experience and commitment to research.
