Purpose of Position

The successful applicant will be working as a CMO within the Neonatal Department of Nepean Hospital and will be exposed to all aspects of Neonatology. They will be expected to manage patients independently with some supervision from the consultant neonatologists.

To apply, you need to be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold an appropriate work visa.

Selection Criteria MBBS or equivalent, eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia

Demonstrated clinical practice as a registered medical practitioner in the last 2 years in Paediatrics or Neonatology.

Relevant clinical experience with a minimum of four years working in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit which has been completed in the last 24 months.

Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising effective communication skills, clinical skills, judgment and expertise in a 24 hour shift work roster.

Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem solving skills in the clinical setting.

Evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self-education, experience and willingness to teach junior medical staff.

Demonstrated interest in research and commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management as well as developmentally supportive care principles.

Demonstrated interest in performing point of care ultrasound and helping facilitate advanced neonatal resuscitation training programmes in the last 24 months
