Purpose of Position

Provide clinical management and treatment of patients of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, a SLHD facility under your care. This care will be provided within the scope of practice granted by the SLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee.

 

To provide orthopaedic services for inpatients and outpatients of the Department of Orthopaedics, Concord Repatriation General Hospital from 1 February 2013 for the remainder of the current VMO Quinquennium, to 31 December 2013.

Selection Criteria Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration with AHPRA and FRACS Orthopaedic Surgery and/or current specialist qualifications as recognised by the Health Insurance Commission.

Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice.

Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management

Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff.

Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/continuing professional development.

Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of public health organisation, including the provision of services to local community, effective utilisation of resources, preparedness to participate in provision of health services at District level, if credentialed.

Preparedness to participate in any on-call service, including on-call rosters already existing or established, if requested and credentialed.

Evidence of ability to work co-operatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidsciplinary health care team.
